house geach – hout bay

Building of this family cabin is taking shape in one of Hout Bay’s historical ‘pencil plots’, so named due to their long length and narrow width fronting the Disa River. In addition to the limited footprint due to the 100-year flood line the site’s sandy soil conditions required the entire house to be built on piles. Sensitively placed these piles will be out of view and the finished building will appear to float above the terrain allowing nature to take its course.
